    I used to be on these videos religiously but the last 2 months I’ve no need and my life is much better. I’ve had anxiety all my life almost with panic disorder and GAD, This year was the worst for me yet January to may. I couldn’t sleep , constant OCD health anxiety pains, GAD, mixed with depression. I had to have time off work. In my experience just want to say what helped me and can maybe help others too. Read a book called dirty genes by Ben lynch. I did a vitamin blood test and realised I was severely low on folate and b12. I also did a MTHFR gene test which showed I have genes that struggle to convert folic acid naturally from food and that vitamins and drugs which contain folic acid do not work. I must have been deficient for years without knowing. Do not take folic acid from your doctor or vitamins, this it not good for you. You need to take a methylated B12 complex. I started taking high dose methylated b12 complex and my body can now convert it and I have normal levels. My OCD and anxiety and near enough gone and my life is normal again. It can be as something as simple as this. Research MTHFR gene. Watch Joe rogan Gary brecka

    Hard to believe I was here for 4 years, and finally started focusing on how I respond to the symptoms when they come up. Once I started responding correctly, they very slowly stopped over a long period of time. I just stopped safety behaviors slowly, and I hardly ever get anxious anymore. The first thing to go was panic attacks. The day I sat through one completely without safety behaviors, I just never got another one again after having 1-3 daily(yes multiple every single day for 4 years). Anxiety persisted, but over the course of 4-5 months just responding correctly, I deal with anxiety maybe once every 3 weeks, and it's getting less and less. Before this I tried all of it. Meditation, medication, therapy, exercise, eating correctly, supplements, etc. Nothing ever helped until I just let it be there and focused on not acting on it. I failed for months but eventually desensitized enough to sit through them without freaking out.

It is where you ask the bad energy in your body to tell you why it is hurting you. Your body will tell and your being will take a chance to reveal what it's hidden. take it from there. Healing. It is hard to explain but I recommend looking for a therapist that does exercises to release the trauma. From the body + Cbt. Take time.but it is helpful. Elevate the symptoms.

Meditation and mindfulness and walks, acceptance... Met a therapist monk and showed me the way. I am feeling better, great! I still have physical symptoms, but they are not scaring me anymore. Here i am, someone who I love very much is in hospital 4 miles away. I can't get to them. This is absolute torture. The help out there is non existent. The NHS can't help me, because apparently my agoraphobia is too complex for local IAPT services, yet not severe enough for other therapy. I wasted a couple hundred pounds on private therapy and gave up because she didn't provide exposure therapy.

I have most of those safety behaviors besides alcohol and drugs obviously. I genuinely have to pee but I physically can not I’m constantly made fun of by my family because of it but it’s super hard. TMI but even at home it’s hard for me, I have to sit down and close my eyes just to pee. It really affects me because I’m ashamed of it. Sorry to hear of your struggles with paruresis. Your family making fun of you will not help. Paruresis is a type of social anxiety disorder. Maybe they do not recognise how serious it is. If you think it will help them understand, you could direct them to the UK paruresis trust www.ukpt.org.uk/ or if you are in the states the International Paruresis organisation. paruresis.org/ As for the condition, I would recommend that you continue watching the video series and applying what you learn. Behavioural experiments and desensitisation can result in significant improvements. It is difficult and takes time but if you put the effort in you can see a 95% improvement in the condition.

    my anxiety is debilitating and started with ssri,s 11 years ago ,mine is the opposite of what you describe here ,it makes me want to go out in the open to breath cool air ,the house becomes a place of entrapment and claustrophobic probly because of throat issues and negative thoughts ,is there any advice regarding coming off medication ,i came off it for 7 months in the past but my issues returned

    • @TheAnxietyAttic
      @TheAnxietyAttic 6 днів тому

      Regarding coming off medication I can't advise in terms of dosage because my training does not cover medication (thats only for doctors and psychiatrists) but what I can say is that there is a good chance that you will experience a temporary increase in anxiety when coming of SSRIs. It can be very tempting to use more safety behaviours in that time .Its important to try to accept the anxiety and resist the safety behaviours. If you can then the anxiety increase will pass and things will get better in the long term. I wish you well in your recovery

    Martin, have you looked into stem cell therapy at all? I read they are having luck with add/adhd patients. They claim it "has been shown to enhance neuroplasticity, facilitating the rewiring of neural networks and promoting adaptive changes that support improved cognitive function and behavior" Ya see my wife underwent radiation therapy (breast cancer) about 12yrs ago and just a couple of years ago, her OCD has gone into overdrive. I saw the possibility of OCD 20some odd years ago with her, but never thought it could get to this level. SSRI's are not an option. So every day we work on reacting different to situations and I gotta tell you, this nightmare is getting very old. Thanks for all the work you do, you are extremely valuable to those of us in locations where specialists aren't available.

    تخيل ياصديقي اني في اول ايام الثانوي عانيت من هاذا الرهاب عندما حاولت التبول اول مرة في الحمام في المدرسة و عندما حاولت ثاني مرة بعد شهر تمكنت من التبول وقضيت بقيت العام اتبول ولايهمني حتا ان كان الحمام مزدحما، ولاكن في بداية العام الدراسي الجديد اتذكر اني حاولت ان اتبول في مرحاض المدرسة ولم استطع وقضيت عام وانا احاول وقلق وااكن دون جدوى ولا استطيع التبول في اي مكان اخر، اما الأن وبدع سنة استطعت التغلب على خوفي بنسبة 40 % واصبحت اتمكن من التبول في المقاهي و المطاعم، وقضيت مدة قصيرة استطيع فيها التبول في حمام المدرسة، وسرعان ما اصبحت غير قادر على ذلك كما اني لاستطيع التبول و في الفضاء الطلق مثل الطبيعة. إلا في اليل، في الظلام اتمنى ان اشفى من هاذا الرهاب اللعين.

    Hello Mr. Burridge, I really appreciate you, thank you so much for the video. If anxiety causing dysfunctional breathing may I ask can my Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT) cause my test results to look like I have COPD? They have some evidence that it could be copd or asthma but also there is evidence that shows it is not consistent with my actual lungs or any disease process. Please let me know if I can email you, I need to talk to you sir. God bless you 🙏🏽

    What I don't understand is why death is even here at all. Why would every living thing, fighting for its survival, decide one day to end forever? I wouldn't see the point of life otherwise because non-living things have a much easier time. It makes me question why I was even born at all.
